Gingival Recession/Reduction

Gingival recession or reduction of gingiva is a problem that can easily be noticed by patients but they can be ignored due to not causing any pain. Therefore, the level of recession is very important.

In simple recessions, gingiva fillings can be done with Hyaluronic Acid injections but in advanced recessions interventions are more likely operational.

Moderate level recessions are called mucogingival problems and they should be treated by operational interventions. Operational procedures which are used during the treatment include two different style; free gingival graft or connective tissue graft. Gingiva is taken from palatinal part and added to the recession site during those operations. Beside, recently artificial ‘dermal grafts’ can easily be used for those operations without taking any gingiva from palatinal side.

This operational procedure can be repeated a few times for advanced recessions.

Basit çekilmelerde Hyaluronik Asit enjeksiyonu ile diş eti dolguları yapılabilirken çekilmeler ilerlediğinde yapılan müdahaleler daha çok operasyonel olmaktadır.

Orta seviye çekilmeler mucogingival problem olarak isimlendirilir ve operasyonelmüdehale ile tedavi edilmesi gerekir. Tedavi sırasında kullanılan operasyonel işlemler; serbest diş eti grefti (freegingivalgreft) veya bağ dokusu grefti (connectivetissuegreft) olarak iki farklı tarzdadır. Bu operasyonlar sırasında damak bölgesinden dişeti alınıp çekilme bölgesine eklenir. Ayrıca son yıllarda bu operasyonlar damak bölgesinden diş eti almadan yapay “dermalgreftler” ile kolaylıkla yapılabilmektedir.

İleri seviye çekilmelerde ise bu operasyonel işlem birden fazla kez tekrarlanmak zorunda kalabilir.
