Implant

Implants are structures made from titanium and they are used for  replacing missing teeth due to loss of natural teeth.

There are various factors effecting implant success. The most important one is correct case and correct planning. Planning involves; the implant type that will be used, (length, diameter, brand choice), bone structure of the implant site, anatomic formations (like vessel-nerve packets, sinus, etc.), the number of implants in long edentulous areas and prosthesis planning. Those factors are effecting success and lifetime of the implant that will be placed.

Despite planning to place implants inside a bone with good quality and with the best length and diameter for the bone structure, implant placement can not be done under ideal circumstances when the amount of bone is insufficient related with long term tooth loss.   Lack of bone structure which is the most important factor,  makes application of the other factors harder. Therefore, edentulous areas should not be kept for a long time and they should be rehabilitated by implant procedure.
